IMPLEMENTATION BCSC employees have many years of hands-on experience in implementing RACF security for many different OS390 products. We use that experience in our recommendations and actual work to increase the overall efficiency and security of your RACF implementation. Our security implementation-support is focused on assisting with the creation of the access-control mechanisms that are required by your organization. This process starts with an analysis of the environment, followed by a proposal how to effectuate the desired controls. This may involve design recommendations for existing (and new) applications, security control settings for subsystems, creation of special RACF interface-routines, or simply the definition of the most efficient profiles in RACF. BCSC can assist with the implementation of these recommendations, and with the initial execution of the procedures that are created during the process. As part of our implementation services we also offer access control re-design and security database-cleanup. Access control re-design involves an analysis of your current access rules, suggestions for improvement via role-based access rules, and actual building of the commands needed to implement the suggested changes. The security database cleanup focuses at the removal of unused profiles (user and resource profiles) and the removal of superfluous access-definitions. It also comprises corrections to existing profiles that currently do not comply to your security policies. |
